All of the participants took part in a tour of the hotel, where they learnt about the processes involved behind the scene to ensure the hotel runs smoothly. There are 45 different jobs in the hotel to make it work, including the ones you see, ie. housekeeping and reception. Our students learnt about the processes of signing in and why you do that, the fire evacuation process and what the hotel had to do to ensure guests know how to leave the hotel via the nearest fire exit. They were provided with juice, croissants and pain au chocolate, along with some feedback about their bedmaking and the journey they had been on.
Our students were trained to make the bed once, in a quick training session, then were tasked to making a double bed to hotel standards. Each student was given a room to make their bed in without any help or support. The only advice they had was tick sheet list of instructions to do when making the bed. Each student was timed and good and bad points taken in to account. Overall every student did an amazing job at making their bed, the hotel were incredibly impressed but they did nominate a winner,,, her name was Alice Adeyemo. She was awarded a framed certificate and received a goodie bag filled with a box of chocolate, drinks, snacks and lots of edible treats.
She was a deserving winner, with absolutely perfect corners to her bed and in one of the quickest times, Well done to all students that took part!! Ghalib, Zenia, Oluwatimileyin, Eleanor and Alice. Great work all of you!!
