A fantastic UCAS Evening at Stantonbury Sixth Form

Our Stantonbury Sixth Form hosted a fantastic and informative UCAS Evening from 5:00 to 6:30pm, bringing together students, parents, and university representatives for an
invaluable journey into higher education.
The event featured engaging presentations from University College Birmingham and the University of Northampton, covering everything future students and families need to know about applying to
university. Topics included an overview of the UCAS process, understanding Russell Group universities, choosing the right courses and campuses, and the benefits of placement years and
joint honours degrees.
Attendees also gained insight into important practicalities such as student finance, entry requirements, and UCAS Tariff points, as well as how to align choices with career goals, skills, and
interests. A huge emphasis was placed on student support, with universities showcasing their academic and wellbeing services, including disability support, open-door tutor policies, and library
and learning resources.
One of the most appreciated aspects of the evening was the welcoming atmosphere-teas, coffees, and plenty of questions! Students and parents had the chance to ask thoughtful questions and chat
one-to-one with university staff after the main sessions.
The turnout was brilliant, with lots of Sixth Form students attending alongside their parents, showing real enthusiasm and curiosity about their futures. It was a truly positive and empowering evening,
helping to clarify choices and inspire confidence.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening such a success. We look forward to supporting our students every step of the way on their journey to university!
